Landscape Technician

GENERAL DESCRIPTIONA landscape technician is responsible for the care and maintenance of outdoor spaces including lawns, trees, shrubs, gardens, and raised beds.DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIESDuties and responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:Care and maintenance of various types of natural grasses including mowing, trimming, fertilizing, irrigating, aerating, and soil testingCare and maintenance of artificial or synthetic turfInspect irrigation systems for proper operation and identify leaks, broken heads, coverage issues, or timer malfunctionsPerform basic irrigation repairs and adjustments as neededPlanting, transplanting, weeding, fertilizing, and mulching trees, shrubs, garden beds and raised bedsGroundskeeping including raking leaves and clearing debrisPruning and trimming trees, hedges, and shrubsPerforming maintenance and repairs on equipment and machinesInstalling various types of hardscaping including edging, walkways, retaining walls, etc.Loading and unloading landscape and hardscape supplies and equipmentAny other duties as assigned that align with the nature of this positionQUALITIFICATIONSJob qualifications may include but are not limited to the following:Basic knowledge and understanding of the care and maintenance of various grass types, flowers, shrubs, and treesKnowledge and understanding of the operation and maintenance of various kinds of machines including riding mowers, walk-behind mowers, bobcats, forklifts, trimmers, chainsaws, pole saws, blowers, etc.Knowledge of irrigation system installation and maintenance, sprinkler leads, valves, and controllers – experience a plusThe ability to work safely in various weather conditions including heat, cold, wind, rain, etcHigh level of physical stamina including the ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, climb, stoop, carry, push, pull, and/or reach for extended periodsOne year or more experience in the field of landscaping or groundskeepingSatisfactory criminal background checkHigh school diploma or GEDAttention to detailAbility to work both independently and as part of a teamAbility to lift and/or carry 50 pounds #J-18808-Ljbffr
