The Accountant II reports to the Accounting Vice President and plays a crucial role in maintaining general ledger integrity and ensuring compliance with financial reporting standards. This position is integral to the month-end and year-end close processes, providing accurate and timely financial data and analysis to support operational and financial decision-making. This role requires a solid foundation in accounting principles, experiencepreferably within a manufacturing or project-based environment, and strong problem-solving skills.What Does a Week in the Life of the Accountant II Look Like?General Ledger and Close Activities1. Prepares and posts journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.2. Performs reconciliations for bank accounts and various balance sheet accounts.3. Assists in annual audit, month-end and year-end close processes.4. Audits employee credit card spend for policy adherence and coding accuracy.Cross-Functional Collaboration5. Provides support to Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R) asneeded, including unit invoicing.6. Collaborates closely with Purchasing, Service, and Sales Operations to resolvediscrepancies and enhance financial accuracy.7. Researches and assists with vendor or customer inquiries.Cost Accounting Support8. Reconciles Work-in-Progress (WIP) and inventory subledgers to general ledger.9. Reviews and investigates inventory variances.10. Supports annual physical inventory countAudit and Compliance11. Maintains comprehensive documentation to support internal and external audits.12. Conducts audits of journal entries, prepaid expenses, and accruals to guaranteeGAAP compliance.13. Ensures all accounting practices comply with Generally Accepted AccountingPrinciples (GAAP) and internal controls.Process Improvement and System Support14. Identifies opportunities for automation and workflow enhancement.15. Participates in ERP upgrades, testing, and system improvements.Required Education and Experience:1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration required.2. 3-5 years of experience in general or cost accounting, preferably in amanufacturing environment.3. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.5. Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, and complexformulas) used for data validation and error-checking.6. Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.7. Experience with industry-standard ERP systems used in a manufacturingenvironment and spreadsheet software.8. General exposure to AI-enhanced tools for task management or data analysis;ability to leverage emerging technology to streamline routine accounting tasks.Skills (to Pay the Bills)Here's a list of a few competencies that the Accountant II should have...1. Don't worry . . . we expect some on-the-job training.• Google G-Suite (Gmail, Documents, Drive, Spreadsheets, etc.)• UKG (HRIS)Oh, and $alaryOf course, we didn't forget the salary... this role offers competitive pay and will start witha salary between $68,000- $84,000 annually depending on education, certifications, andexperience.Work ScheduleAccountant II will work Monday-Thursday 7:00 AM- 4:30PM, Friday 7:00 AM- 11:00 AM.Occasional evening/weekend work may be needed.
