Material Planner

With development centers in Europe, Americas, Japan, China, Thailand and India – KPIT works with leaders in mobility and is present where the ecosystem is transforming.Responsibilities:Maintain long-term supply schedules based on production forecasts.Resolve material shortages, backlogs, and supply interruptions.Coordinate supplier recovery plans for delayed deliveries.Perform root cause analysis to improve on-time delivery performance.Communicate shipping requirements and delivery expectations to suppliers.Execute supplier schedules and monitor deliveries using SAP.Collaborate with Purchasing, Production Planning, Quality, Customer Service, and Logistics teams.Monitor raw material inventory and optimize stock levels.Generate KPI and supplier performance reports.Send EDI releases and manage supplier scheduling updates.Execute MRP/ERP exception messages and manage inbound delivery reports.Track inbound/outbound shipments and update material ETAs.Communicate daily with suppliers regarding delivery commitments.Manage supplier backlogs, OTD reporting, and inventory forecasting.Support Engineering Change Management (ECN/ECO) and New Product Launches (NPI).Maintain material master data and SAP scheduling agreements.Arrange expedited freight for critical material shortages.Support supplier quality issues, consignment reporting, and tariff reporting.Requirements:Associate degree or equivalent work experience.Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.Strong knowledge of supply planning, material planning, and production scheduling.Hands-on experience with MRP/ERP systems; SAP experience strongly preferred.Understanding of supplier scheduling, inventory management, and demand planning.Experience with EDI releases, scheduling agreements, and exception message processing.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).Strong analytical, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong organizational and documentation skills.Ability to work cross-functionally with suppliers and internal teams.Knowledge of inventory forecasting, KPI reporting, and supplier performance metrics.Familiarity with Engineering Change Management (ECN/ECO) and New Product Introduction (NPI).Commitment to health, safety, and environmental policies.
