Job Details Location: Fort Myers, FL (33912) — Fort Myers travel nursing job / Florida nursing jobs Job Type: Travel nursing – Operating Room RN (Perioperative Nurse) Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,890 – $1,990 Contract Duration: 13 weeks (May 25, 2026 – August 22, 2026) Shift: 10-hour day shifts (6:30 AM – 5:00 PM), Wednesdays off Hours: 40 hours per week Call Requirement: 1 shift per week after scheduled day (2–4 hours), plus 1–2 twelve-hour weekend shifts per month Setting: Operating Room (OR) with potential to float to sister campuses Perks: Scrubs provided; opportunity to work with advanced robotic surgical systems Job Requirements / Qualifications Minimum 2 years of recent Operating Room RN experience (perioperative, scrub, and circulating roles) Robotic surgery and ortho/neuro surgical experience required; experience with oncology, bariatric, vascular, and trauma cases a plus Prior travel nursing experience required (travel OR nurse preferred) Active Florida RN license or compact RN license at time of submission BLS required; ACLS and PALS preferred Epic EMR experience preferred for documentation and perioperative charting Degree accreditation must be documented, or 5 years of nursing experience required Ability to float to other units and sister campuses as needed Must reside at least 50 miles from facility (radius rule) to qualify for travel assignment Responsibilities (Operating Room / Perioperative) Provide high-quality perioperative nursing care in the operating room as a surgical RN, including scrub and circulating responsibilities Assist with a broad range of surgical procedures: robotics, orthopedic, neurosurgery, oncology, bariatric, vascular, and trauma Perform pre-op and post-op assessments, time-outs, instrument counts, and maintain sterile technique to ensure patient safety Document care accurately in Epic EMR and maintain clear communication with surgical teams Participate in call rotations and scheduled weekend coverage per staffing requirements Float to other units and sister campuses when needed to support staffing and patient care demands Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize surgical outcomes and deliver excellent patient-centered care Perks & Culture Work with advanced surgical technology including robotic systems — great learning opportunity for perioperative and travel nurses Join a welcoming, team-oriented culture focused on professional growth and patient safety Fort Myers location offers sunny weather, Gulf Coast beaches, and a vibrant community for travel nurses relocating to Florida Apply now to join our Fort Myers surgical team as a Travel Operating Room RN.
