Come Join an Inclusive Team This position manages the LYB La Porte (LPO) Capital Projects department that develops and executes capital projects through all assigned phases. In addition to full project delivery at the La Porte, Texas complex, this positionis responsible fordiscipline engineering activities in support of capital projects at the Bayport, La Porte and Channelview manufacturing sites.This position will work closely with the site leadership team including operations, technical, reliability, and maintenance personnel to develop, prioritize, and execute the site capital long range plan. The positionis responsible forproject scope definition, engineering and design, construction, and management of cost and schedule to meet established projectobjectivesfor quality, schedule, cost, safety, and environmental. A Day in the LifeManage department consisting of LYB employees and contract project management, design, and construction personnel.Manage an organization of 30-60 (both LYB & Contract) personnel for project development/design/execution and a construction organization of 25-150 (both LYB & Contract) personnel for construction activities. The size of the organization will flex up/down depending upon the annual capital project portforlio.Employ the company's phase gate Project Management Process in execution of 30-100 capital projects with total installed cost (TIC) typically less than $10MM.Facilitate long range planning with site: engage site leadership on strategic objectives, perform quality review of project initiation forms, obtain estimates from Regional Project Controls group, and manage changes through the budget cycle.Provide site leadership routine updates on capital project execution including HSE, cost, and schedule performance.Perform and document phase gate reviews for all projects; ensure adherence to project management process.Execute projects consistent with approved project objectives and assume accountability for overall HSE, cost, and schedule performance during development, execution, commissioning and startup of projects.Participate on the site leadership team and support site initiatives.You Bring This ValueBachelorof Science degree in engineering with a minimum of 10 years of work experience in the refining/petrochemical/chemical industry is required.Experience managing a portfolio of small to mid-size Capital Projects in an operating chemical plant.Familiarity with applicable engineering codes/standards and their application.Working knowledge of equipment procurement and construction.The successful candidate shall have developed strong estimating skills and will have worked with contractors, vendors andpurchasingto accomplish the work scope.Working knowledge of SAP as well as the Management of Change process.Strong teamwork,resultsorientationand organizational skills area must.Must have excellent communication skills, demonstrated problem solving and decision-making skillsPreferred Qualifications:Supervisory experience in project management or turnaround management.Construction experience managing field activities.Cost estimation/management and staffing experience for projectconstruction.Competencies Build PartnershipsDrive InnovationGrow CapabilitiesPromote InclusionMotivational FitTechnical SkillsDeliver ResultsLearn more about our benefits :Benefits/Health & Welfare | LyondellBasellStay Connected!Visit our LYB WebsiteFollow us on LinkedIn and InstagramLike us on FacebookSubscribe to our YouTube channelLyondellBasell is an equal opportunity employer.
