Quality Inspector II Job Description Supervisory Responsibility: None FLSA STATUS: NON-EXEMPT MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities specific to the role Execute inspection plans for receiving, first piece, in-process, and final inspection to ensure that components are conforming prior to passing on to subsequent operations. Use manual and automated metrology equipment to measure products, tools, and fixtures Set up, calibrate, and run CMM equipment for receiving, first piece, in-process, and final inspection. Trouble shoot CMM run and program problems and make recommendations for improvements to Engineering and Management Trouble shoot measurement techniques and make recommendations for improvements to Engineering and Management Verify automated findings of nonconformance manually. Generate nonconformance reports based on inputs from shop floor personnel, Engineering, and Management using ERP system Maintain all gaging to condition and calibration frequencies. Participate in MSAs and correlations to assure measurement processes are robust. Make molds of radius while machine is running. Attention to detail to Customer Requirements is a MUST Ensure parts are handled and protected in a suitable manner to prevent damage during operations and movement. Develop and execute training programs in proper gage use techniques. Organize work for self to assure efficient flow through equipment. To perform other such duties as generally correspond to the nature of the position and its level of responsibility. General responsibilities; Comply with all company Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) requirements. Read and understand the requirements on the work instructions for the operation to be carried out. Ensure that all the documentation required to carry out the operation in accordance with the work instructions is available at the point of use and at the correct revision. Read and understand all manufacturing instructions prior to commencing an operation, this includes CMM Programs and Set Up Instructions therein, Tooling Control Sheets (TCS) as required, Engineering Drawings, Data Cards, Operation Inspection Plans (OIP) etc. Ensure that components identified as non-conforming during in process inspection are identified and communicated in accordance with the Non-Conformance Procedure. Complete all work booking requirements within the ERP system to ensure accurate WIP records. Follow work handling and storage instructions to prevent damage to components. Support Root Cause Analysis activities when non-conformance occurs to prevent reoccurrence. Carry out and record all TPM activities in accordance with the specified schedule for the equipment being operated. Ensure that work areas are tidy, cleaned and maintained in accordance with 5S requirements. Engage and contribute to Continuous Improvement activities to maximize efficiency. Comply with all company procedures and policies. From time to time, you may be required to perform other duties as requested by your Line Manager, and whilst not listed above, these duties will be appropriate to the level of responsibility held and to the scope of the role as defined.
