As we expand our software platform and AI-driven capabilities, we are looking for a strategic, hands-on Project Manager to help shape the future of our product roadmap and ensure strong execution across engineering, product, and customer-facing teams.Position SummaryThe Strategic Project Manager will own the creation, maintenance, and execution of DataMyte's strategic and tactical software roadmap. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role that bridges executive strategy with day-to-day engineering delivery. The ideal candidate is equal parts strategist and operator: someone who can synthesize input from sales, marketing, engineering, executives, and customers into a prioritized, revenue-driven pipeline, and then drive that pipeline through disciplined Agile execution.This role is ideal for a project manager who thrives in a fast-moving environment, is comfortable working directly with customers and executives, and is energized by the opportunity to integrate modern AI development tools (including Claude Code) into the project management and software delivery lifecycle.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Roadmap Ownership• Create, maintain, and continuously refine the company's strategic and tactical product/engineering roadmap.• Gather, consolidate, and rank inputs from sales, marketing, engineering, executive leadership, and customers into a unified project and product-update pipeline.• Evaluate and rank pipeline items based on potential revenue impact, alignment with strategic goals, customer value, technical feasibility, and risk.• Prepare and present prioritized roadmap proposals to the executive team for review, alignment, and approval.AI-Enabled Project Management• Lead and manage projects that incorporate AI-assisted development, including initiatives leveraging the Claude Code framework.• Establish processes for tracking, measuring, and reporting AI tool usage, productivity impact, and ROI.• Provide statistics and insights on AI adoption, developer velocity, and quality outcomes to leadership.• Champion responsible and effective use of AI tools across engineering workflows.Tactical Execution & Delivery• Lead day-to-day operational planning, scheduling, and tracking of active engineering initiatives.• Partner with development leads to ensure planned deliveries are on-time, on-scope, and on-quality.• Host daily standups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, sprint reviews, and retrospectives in line with SCRUM best practices.• Identify risks, dependencies, and blockers early; drive resolution across cross-functional teams.• Maintain accurate project status, forecasts, and reporting in Microsoft Azure DevOps.Customer & Stakeholder Engagement• Engage directly with customers to clarify requirements, validate scope, and confirm delivery targets and timelines.• Serve as a trusted point of contact between customers and internal engineering teams.• Translate customer needs into clear, actionable engineering work items.Required Qualifications• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).• 5+ years of project or program management experience in a software engineering environment.• Proven track record of owning a product or engineering roadmap from strategy through delivery.• Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Azure DevOps (boards, backlogs, sprints, queries, dashboards, reporting).• Experience prioritizing initiatives based on revenue potential, strategic value, and risk.• Excellent communication skills — outstanding written, verbal, and presentation abilities, with a proven ability to communicate clearly and persuasively across all levels of the organization, from individual engineers to C-level executives, as well as directly with customers.• Strong analytical skills; comfortable with data, metrics, and quantitative decision-making.• Demonstrated comfort and proficiency with AI tools in a professional setting (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, Claude Code, or similar).Preferred Qualifications• Experience working with AI-assisted development workflows, including Claude Code or comparable agentic coding tools.• Background in B2B SaaS, manufacturing software, quality management, or industrial software domains.• PMP, SAFe, or other recognized project/program management certifications.• Experience defining KPIs and reporting on engineering productivity, including AI tool utilization metrics.• Prior experience supporting executive-level roadmap reviews and quarterly business planning.What We're Looking For (Soft Skills)• Exceptional communicator — articulate, concise, and confident in front of customers, executives, and engineering teams alike; able to tailor message and tone to the audience.• A strategic thinker who can zoom out to the roadmap and zoom in to the sprint with equal confidence.• A natural relationship-builder who creates trust and alignment across stakeholders.• A pragmatic decision-maker who balances ambition with realism.• A self-starter who is comfortable with ambiguity and energized by building structure.• A learner who is genuinely excited about AI's role in the future of software development.Location & Work ArrangementThis is an on-site position based at DataMyte's Minnesota office in Plymouth.
