Head of US Crude Business DevelopmentLocation: HoustonSector: Energy Markets / Commodity IntelligenceWe are working with a leading global energy markets and pricing business looking to appoint a senior commercial leader to head up its US crude coverage and business development activities.The role sits at the intersection of commodity markets, pricing intelligence and commercial strategy, working closely with major market participants across the US crude landscape.The successful individual will be responsible for developing senior relationships across trading houses, refiners, producers, brokers and broader market participants — understanding how clients trade, the products and benchmarks they use, and where market intelligence, pricing and analytics solutions can add commercial value.This is a highly visible role with significant autonomy and exposure across both US and international leadership teams.Key Responsibilities• Lead business development activities across US crude markets• Develop senior commercial relationships across trading houses, refiners, producers and brokers• Understand client trading flows, market exposure and benchmark usage• Identify opportunities where pricing, analytics and market intelligence products can support commercial activity• Work closely with internal product and sales teams, handing off and supporting longer-term commercial relationships• Represent the business externally across the wider oil trading ecosystemWhat We’re Looking For• Ideally 7+ years’ experience within crude oil markets• Strong understanding of WTI crude and broader US oil market dynamics• Background within trading, pricing, broking, analytics or related commodity market environments• Strong commercial instincts and ability to engage credibly with senior market participants• Existing industry relationships across US crude markets highly advantageous• Entrepreneurial mindset and strong communication skillsCompensationHighly competitive package, with senior-level base compensation and objective performance-linked upside. If you are a senior business development leader operating within US crude markets and would be interested in a discreet conversation, please get in touch.
