Hair Stylist / Barber

Overview We are seeking a talented and passionate Hair Stylist / Barber to join our dynamic salon team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in hair styling, barbering, and customer service, with the ability to create personalized looks that enhance client confidence. Candidates should be licensed cosmetologists or barbers and have experience with a variety of services including hair extensions, eyelash extensions, and makeup application. Experience with salon software such as MINDBODY is a plus. Responsibilities Provide professional hair styling, cutting, coloring, and barbering services tailored to individual client needs Perform specialized treatments such as hair extensions, eyelash extensions, and nail care when required Maintain high standards of sanitation and sanitation procedures in accordance with health regulations Manage client consultations to recommend suitable styles and treatments based on hair type and preferences Utilize salon software (e.g., MINDBODY) for appointment scheduling, client records, and retail sales tracking Assist with retail sales by upselling hair care products, styling tools, and cosmetics to clients Keep the salon environment clean, organized, and welcoming at all times Mentor junior staff or apprentices as needed to foster a collaborative team environment Handle front desk responsibilities including greeting clients, managing appointments, and answering inquiries effectively Stay current on industry trends in hair styling, color theory, makeup application, and store management strategies Skills Proficiency in hair styling techniques including cutting, coloring, and texturizing Expertise in barbering skills such as straight razor shaves and beard grooming Experience with advanced services like hair extensions (clip-in, tape-in), eyelash extensions, and threading Strong knowledge of sanitation standards and safety protocols in a salon setting Familiarity with salon management software such as MINDBODY or similar platforms Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients Ability to upsell retail products effectively through retail math and persuasive communication Knowledge of store management practices including inventory control and retail sales strategies Creative skills in makeup application and nail care are considered advantageous Ability to mentor team members while maintaining a positive work environment This role is ideal for licensed cosmetologists or barbers who are dedicated to delivering exceptional client experiences while continuously honing their craft. Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract Pay: $25.21 - $30.36 per hour Work Location: In person
