Preconstruction/Design Manager

Clark Pacific is seeking a Preconstruction / Design Integration Manager to lead and coordinate design-phase and preconstruction efforts for Design-Build projects. This role ensures alignment across design, estimating, procurement, and construction planning to deliver projects on schedule, within budget, and aligned with stakeholder expectations.This position plays a critical role in managing the design phase, including defining key deliverables, driving design schedules, identifying and resolving risks early, and leading procurement and buyout efforts. You will collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless project progression and a smooth transition into construction.We are looking for a collaborative leader who thrives in a design-build environment and enjoys driving projects from concept through construction readiness. Join Clark Pacific and help deliver impactful projects from the ground up.Competitive Compensation Range: $125,000 - $150,000 annually, depending on experienceEssential Duties & ResponsibilitiesLead and manage design-phase planning, cost management, and value engineering effortsOversee permit processes and coordinate with agencies and owners to secure approvalsManage design deliverables to ensure quality, timeliness, and complianceMonitor design progress to maintain alignment with schedules and budgetsCoordinate internal and external stakeholders to define design expectations and milestonesFacilitate resolution of RFIs, scope questions, and design issuesIdentify risks and implement corrective actions to maintain budget and schedule goalsLead value optimization efforts and cost-saving strategiesCoordinate specifications, utilities, BIM requirements, and owner vendor integrationDevelop buyout strategies and support GMP and bid approachesImplement LEAN practices and continuous improvement processesProvide design management training and improve internal processesKey InterfacesInternal: Design, Engineering, Manufacturing, Field Operations, FinanceExternal: Owners, Architects, Consultants, Subcontractors, Permit AgenciesQualificationsBachelor's degree in engineering or architectureMinimum 10 years of experience managing and coordinating design disciplinesProven experience leading design-phase efforts on construction projectsStrong understanding of cost control, budgeting, and schedulingPreferredProfessional Engineer (PE) or Registered Architect (RA)LEED AP or DBIA certificationExperience in design-build delivery methodsField experience in construction and design coordinationSkills & AbilitiesStrong leadership and stakeholder coordination skillsAbility to align design, cost, and schedule objectivesKnowledge of building systems including structure, envelope, MEPF, and site workExperience with BIM coordination and design workflowsProficiency in MS Office and familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, and NavisworksStrong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skillsCore Values:Determination: Meet challenges head onInnovation: Always look for betterWell-Being: Seek the success, health, and happiness of allBenefits:Competitive compensation, paid weeklyHealth, Dental, and Vision Insurance, including Kaiser and VSP optionsMedical FSADependent Care FSAEmployer-paid life insuranceVoluntary ancillary benefits including Critical Illness, Accident Insurance, and Whole Life Insurance401k matching: 100 percent of the first 3 percent, then 50 percent of the next 2 percentBenefits are subject to a waiting period.Interested?
