Cornerstone Hospitality is a boutique hotel development and management firm, based in Williamsburg, Virginia, which operates both branded and curated boutique hotels throughout Virginia as well as Delaware, Louisiana, North Carolina and Vermont.The ideal candidate will have a proven track record leading full-service hotel operations, including significant food and beverage responsibilities, and experience with Hilton, Marriott, and/or independent boutique hotel properties. Allocations are also made for family plans.Paid vacation and sick leaveProfessional development and advancement opportunitiesThe opportunity to lead distinctive hotel assets and make a meaningful impact on guest and team experiencesPosition SummaryThe General Manager is responsible for the overall leadership and performance of the hotel, including guest satisfaction, financial results, team development, sales growth, and operational excellence. This role oversees all departments and ensures the property consistently delivers outstanding service while achieving revenue and profitability goals.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide leadership and oversight of all hotel operations, including Rooms, Food & Beverage, Sales, Events, and Property Maintenance.Recruit, train, mentor, and develop department leaders and team members.Foster a culture of service excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.Develop and execute strategies to maximize occupancy, revenue, profitability, and guest satisfaction.Manage operating budgets, forecasts, financial reporting, and expense controls.Ensure compliance with company standards, brand requirements (where applicable), and regulatory requirements.Lead sales, marketing, community engagement, and reputation management initiatives.Oversee capital improvement planning, preventative maintenance programs, and asset preservation efforts.Analyze business performance metrics and implement action plans to achieve operational objectives.Resolve guest concerns promptly and effectively while maintaining exceptional service standards.Collaborate with ownership and corporate leadership to achieve strategic goals and drive long-term success.QualificationsMinimum of five years of hotel leadership experience, with General Manager or senior hotel management experience preferred.Full-service hotel experience is required.Strong food and beverage management and oversight experience is required.Experience leading Hilton, Marriott, and/or independent boutique hotel properties is required.Proven success in financial management, budgeting, forecasting, revenue growth, and operational leadership.Demonstrated ability to build, lead, and retain high-performing teams.Strong understanding of brand standards, guest satisfaction metrics, revenue management, and operational controls.Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.Passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences.Ability to adapt to changing business demands and work flexible schedules as needed.Must be authorized to work in the United States and successfully complete background and reference checks.Must be willing to relocate for the right opportunity.Why Join Us?Our company is committed to operating exceptional hotels that deliver memorable guest experiences while providing rewarding career opportunities for our team members.
