Description: Critical care registered nurses are skilled in providing care for patients with severe medical issues. They assess patients' conditions and develop patient care plans. They treat wounds and provide advanced life support. They assist physicians in performing medical procedures. They observe and record patient vital signs. They ensure that medical equipment functions properly and make necessary adjustments. They administer intravenous fluids and medications. They perform suctioning as needed. They collaborate with fellow critical care team members. They respond to life-saving situations using established nursing standards and protocols. They act as patient advocates. They provide education and support to patient families. Critical care nurses may also care for pre- and post-operative patients.
