Job Title: Sr. Construction Inspector - Roadway/PavementWork Location: Anchorage, AKSalary: Based on experience and will be discussed with manager in interviewREQUIREMENT- Must be a US Citizen and must pass a federal background review and drug screenResponsibilities/Duties:Must have knowledge of airfield runway construction improvements and pavement resurfacing since detailed inspections must be made to ensure the required level of workmanship adhering to the contract, project plans and specificationsPerform and support three-phase inspection systemProvide daily QA reports to document all activities observed for each on-site day in sufficient detailReview and analysis of construction contractor progressEnsure safety requirements are met including EM 385-1-1 and OSHA requirementsMonitor submittals utilizing a submittal status log.Review of design, comment logging and back-checking; verify accurate as-built drawingsReview and comment on the accuracy of the construction contractor's requests for paymentReview and acknowledge daily reports including verification of the project schedule by indicating the activities worked on that day and the activities behind scheduleMaintain an Inspectors Site Inspection ReportAssist in response for Requests for Information (RFI), modifications and change ordersParticipate in pre-final and final inspections, assist in preparations of detailed punch-lists and check that all punch list items are corrected prior to final payment.Experience/Education:High School diploma is required or GED with at least 7 years of construction inspection experience performing quality assurance verification on construction contract, airfield runway improvements, roadways or pavement resurfacing experience highly preferredOr, Associate Degree (two-year degree) / Technical Training Degree (two years of training) with at least 5 years of construction inspection experience performing quality assurance verification on construction contract, airfield runway improvements, roadways or pavement resurfacing experience highly preferredOr, Bachelor of Science Degree and at least 3 years of construction inspection experience performing quality assurance verification on construction contract, airfield runway improvements, roadways or pavement resurfacing experience highly desiredPaving Inspector Certification provided by the Asphalt Institute will be required within 30 days of start date.Experience in Resident Management System (RMS 3.0), preferredExperience enforcing EM 385-1-1, OSHA rules and regulations and all applicable safety requirementsDemonstrated experience with performing the following duties: quality assurance inspections; submittal review, quality verification, validating contractor pay request and preparing daily reportsExperience with Federal Construction projects, particularly US Army Corps of Engineers, preferredInteraction with clients and contractors requires the candidate to have a professional presentation along with excellent communication skills and attention to detail.QARs may be working in remote locations where they may experience extreme environmental conditions (e.g. seasoned heat or cold conditions).Applicants for federal contracts may be asked to submit additional information beyond applications and resume.
