Job Title: Active Directory / PowerShell Engineer ConsultantDuration: 12 months with extension possible to 18 monthsLocation: Plano, TX (3 days per week onsite)Other Approved Locations: Charlotte, NC or Chandler, AZPay Scale: $70-75/hr W2 (Cannot subcontract or C2C)Job Description: Matlen Silver has partnered with a leading global financial services firm to recruit an Active Directory Engineer with experience in PowerShell scripting that will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining automation frameworks that implement security-driven configuration changes across Windows servers, workstations, and Active Directory infrastructure in response to common vulnerabilities and emergent threats. The engineer must translate security intent into repeatable automated tasks that can be deployed safely at scale. You will partner closely with cybersecurity teams to operationalize advisories and with AD platform teams to ensure changes align with enterprise standards.Responsibilities:Automating GPO creation, modification, and rollbackAutomating Windows and application patch deploymentCreating AD-safe configuration enforcement workflowsBuilding guardrails that prevent unsafe or partial deploymentsRapidly converting CVE guidance into deployable updates within hoursSupporting “break-glass? mitigation scenarios with pre-approved automationDesired Experience:Active Directory, Windows Server, and PowerShellGroup Policy internals and management tools; Windows Server and Windows client internals; Active Directory schema, security descriptors, and replication behavior; Configuration management (SCCM)Git-based version control and code reviewsGPO administration using Quest GP AdminAutomated systems validation testing experience is a big plus.About Matlen SilverExperience Matters.
