Experienced Manager, Accounting & Reporting Advisory Services
Job Summary:The Experienced Manager, Accounting Advisory Services is responsible for understanding complex accounting and reporting matters and assisting companies with the proper application of accounting standards for both public and private companies. This role will assist companies with the implementation of new accounting standards as well as other accounting and reporting related projects. The Manager will be expected to administer training on accounting and reporting related matters both internal and external.Job Duties:Applies technical knowledge to develop, administer, and deliver training courses or presentation materials. Activities include:Defining training goalsSupervising course development or updating, and evaluating coursesFacilitating training courses and evaluating course/presentation effectiveness based on participant and presenter feedbackResearches complex auditing and reporting problems and will be responsible for communicating to clients in both written and oral format.Designs tools and templates for use on ARAS engagementsProduces Thought Leadership pieces, conference calls and live presentations for clients and prospective clients.Demonstrates thought leadership and provides value-added insights in BDO's formal communications and in articles and speeches for external audiencesParticipates on professional committeesApplies with honesty and integrity relevant GAAP, GAAS, SEC, PCAOB and other applicable or emerging regulations and standards, and the BDO Code of Ethics and Professional ConductOther duties as requiredSupervisory Responsibilities:* Acts as a Career Advisor to associates, seniors and managers as assigned (as applicable)* Provides verbal and written performance reviews to associates, seniors and managers (as applicable)Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Education:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Marketing, or Economics, required; ORBachelor's degree in other focus area AND CPA certification, requiredMaster's in Accountancy, preferredExperience:* Six (6) or more years of prior work experience in public accounting, required* Prior supervisory experience, requiredLicense/Certifications:* CPA certification, requiredSoftware:* Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, preferred* Experience with accounting research databases preferredLanguage:* N/AOther Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Solid understanding and proficiency of accounting standards and reporting requirements for public companiesStrong leadership and management skillsSuperior written and verbal communication skillsAdvanced knowledge of GAAP and SECIndividual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.National Range: $125,000 - $140,000Maryland Range: $125,000 - $140,000NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $125,000 - $140,000
