CNC Programmer

AFSI, located in Allen, Texas, has and will continue to base its strategy on technical and application support, quality assurance, product performance and value.We are seeking a highly skilled Class "A" Machinist/Programmer/Lead to join our precision manufacturing team at our brand-new 94,413 square foot, climate-controlled facility, in Allen, Texas. We have state-of-the-art DMG Mori Lathes, Mills, and Mill-Turn machines. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of CAM software experience, extensive experience setting up and operating CNC mills and lathes, with the ability to read complex blueprints, work with tight tolerances, and ensure high-quality workmanship. This role requires a highly motivated individual with proven leadership skills, excellent technical knowledge, problem-solving abilities, a strong commitment to safety, and continuous improvement. This is a second shift position. Hours are Monday Thursday from 6pm to 6am. We have always offered overtime opportunities on Fridays and Saturdays. With some employees, averaging 55 - 60 hours per week.Key ResponsibilitiesSet up and operate manual and CNC machines including lathes, mills, grinders, and other shop equipmentRead and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work ordersMeasure, examine, and test completed parts for conformance to specifications using precision instruments such as micrometers, calipers, gauges, and CMMsPerform layout work and make complex machine setups with minimal supervisionAdjust machining processes to improve efficiency and qualityMaintain tools, machines, and work area in a clean, safe, and organized conditionTroubleshoot machining issues and work with engineering to resolve design or tooling challengesFollow all safety regulations and company policiesTrain and mentor junior machinists as neededMaintain accurate documentation and production recordsQualificationsHigh school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred2 years' experience with Esprit or other CAM Software.Minimum [5+] years of experience as a machinist, with at least 2 years setting up CNC lathes or mills.Excellent Leadership qualitiesStrong knowledge of manual machining and CNC operations (including G and M code understanding)Proficient with precision measuring instruments and inspection techniquesAbility to interpret complex blueprints and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skillsExcellent attention to detail and qualityAble to lift up to 50 lbs. and work on your feet for extended periodsFamiliarity with ISO, AS9100, or other quality standards is a plusPreferred Experience (Optional)Experience in a leadership roleExperience with multi-axis CNC machinesExperience in aerospace, defense, or medical device industriesExperience working under ISO or AS9100 quality systemsExposure to Lean Manufacturing or 5S environmentsAttributes Aligned to Our AFSI MissionDetail-oriented, data-driven, and resourcefulCurious, collaborative, and proactive in problem-solvingCommitted to continuous improvement and operational excellenceBenefitsCompetitive pay based on experienceHealth, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with company matchPaid time off and holidays(10)Training and advancement opportunitiesPosition requires candidates to be U.S. person as defined in ITAR, 22CFR 120.15 (U.S. Citizenship or Resident Alien Status)
