AFSI, located in Allen, Texas, has and will continue to base its strategy on technical and application support, quality assurance, product performance and value.We are seeking a highly skilled Machine Shop Supervisor, to join our precision manufacturing team at our brand-new 94,413 square foot, climate-controlled facility, in Allen, Texas. We have state-of-the-art DMG Mori Lathes, Mills, and Mill-Turn machines. The Machine Shop Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations of the machine shop, ensuring production goals, quality standards, and safety requirements are met. This role leads a team of machinists and programmers while driving continuous improvement, efficiency, and adherence to company and industry standards.Key ResponsibilitiesSupervise and coordinate daily activities of machinists, operators, and support staffPlan, schedule, and prioritize jobs to meet production deadlinesEnsure parts are produced to print specifications and quality standardsMonitor machine performance, tooling, and workflow efficiencyProvide technical guidance on CNC programming, setups, and troubleshootingEnforce safety procedures and ensure OSHA complianceCollaborate with engineering, quality, and production teamsTrain, mentor, and evaluate team membersSupport preventive maintenance programs for equipmentDrive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and/or Six Sigma methodologiesTrack production metrics, scrap, and efficiency for reportingRequired Skills & KnowledgeStrong knowledge of G & M Code programmingExperience with CNC lathes and mills (setup, operation, troubleshooting)Proficiency in PC-DMIS or similar CMM/inspection software is preferredSolid understanding of inspection methods and metrology tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges, CMM)Experience with SolidWorks or similar CAD software is preferredWorking knowledge of ERP systems for job tracking and production controlFamiliarity with Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma principlesAbility to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and technical drawingsExposure to ISO or AS9100 quality systemsQualificationsHigh school diploma or GED required; technical degree or certification preferred5+ years of CNC machining experience2+ years of supervisory or leadership experience in a machine shop environmentStrong problem-solving and decision-making skillsExcellent communication and leadership abilitiesAttributes Aligned to Our AFSI MissionDetail-oriented, data-driven, and resourcefulCurious, collaborative, and proactive in problem-solvingCommitted to continuous improvement and operational excellenceBenefitsCompetitive pay based on experienceHealth, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with company matchPaid time off and holidays(10)Training and advancement opportunitiesPosition requires candidates to be U.S. person as defined in ITAR, 22CFR 120.15 (U.S. Citizenship or Resident Alien Status)
