Based on our Irvine and San Diego office locations. (West Yost uses geographic salary differentials that would apply for candidates in other regions). Status: Full-time, ExemptLOCATION: Preferred office locations are Irvine or San Diego. Will consider candidates near any of our office locations - (https://www.westyost.com/locations/ ).This is a Hybrid role with 3 days in the office and 2 days remote.Position Description:Associate Engineer - Municipal Water Conveyance & StorageAs an Associate Engineer you will be performing tasks and handling routine and complex aspects of engineering assignments within our Infrastructure business sector. Thin includes projects involving the design of pipelines, pump stations, lift stations, wells, and storage tanks & storage facilities. Essential Duties and Accountabilities:Perform engineering tasks including engineering designs, preparing reports, construction drawings, specifications, and calculations for various projects.Prepare designs and drawings in compliance with engineering principles, firm standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications.Cultivate professional relationships throughout the organizational.Work closely with other engineers and with managers to balance personal workload demands.Assist in mentoring and training junior Engineers and Engineering Interns.Plan, organize and supervise work of interns and technicians as needed.Prepare specifications and contract documents.Prepare opinions of probable cost and construction schedules/sequencing on current and new designs.Act as project engineer or task leader on design and construction support projects.Required Education and/or Experience:Bachelor's degree in in Civil/Environmental Engineering4+ years of relevant experienceExcellent writing and communication skillsExperience with CAD and GISPE licensurePreferred Education and/or Experience:Master's degree in in Civil/Environmental EngineeringTravel Requirements:This position may require travel to other offices and/or client offices.A Little About the West Yost Life:You will experience many opportunities to grow and develop professionally with your colleagues through collaborative in-person work experience, knowledge sharing, and mentorship opportunities.
