Cost Analyst

We are seeking a detail-oriented finance professional to join our team in Archbold, Ohio. This position will be impactful in driving awareness on key initiatives and overseeing development and reporting of financials. Key responsibilities will include telling the financial story of location performance, owning and explaining the P&L, budgeting, variance analysis and cost accounting. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, be an excellent communicator and have a deep understanding of financial concepts to support our financial planning and analysis activities. Position Summary: Partner with management to report and explain results and implement and monitor action plans when applicable. Monitor inventory and labor recording activities to ensure proper reporting of production costs. Prepare month end analysis of manufacturing productivity & variances. Update production costs; analyze labor and material costs against standard and budget. Research and explain variances. Prepare monthly journal entries in support of month-end close and P&L generation. Create results presentation. Analyze performance to operating plans and building of the annual budget. Monitor cycle count program to ensure continuous improvement and accounting guidelines are being followed. Perform ad-hoc financial and operational analyses as required. Skills: Previous experience extracting information from an ERP system, building system queries and developing reports is a must; knowledge of M3 software is a plus. Advanced Excel skills required; must be able to import data from outside sources, utilize formulas and functions (VLOOKUP, SumIF, IF commands), create graphs and pivot tables and have a basic understanding of database query logic. Strong MS Office skills including Excel, Word and Power Point including ability to create executive level presentations. Current working knowledge of cost accounting, bills of materials, routers, inventory flow and variance generation. Prior physical or cycle count inventory audit and documentation. Possess an understanding of budget planning process. Experience & Education: Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting with 3+ years of experience in manufacturing cost accounting or financial planning and analysis.
