Materials Process Engineer
Overview
In this role you will maintain and advance Triumph Interiors' core composite, film, scrim, and laminate technologies. You will shadow the Tech Fellow to ensure knowledge transfer and continuity of technical leadership while balancing hands-on material/process work with strategic product development and regulatory oversight. You’ll work on sustaining current products, improving margins, and qualifying next-generation materials for aerospace and adjacent markets. This opportunity combines technical depth with cross-functional collaboration to shape future materials solutions.
ResponsibilitiesTechnical Fellowship Mentorship & Knowledge Transfer: learn and assume SME responsibilities in fire retardant materials, FAA directives, and OEM standards; develop engineering design guides and support IP work.Product Maintenance & Regulatory Compliance: manage obsolescence, qualify alternate materials, perform lifecycle risk assessments, ensure regulatory and export controls compliance, and support complex customer issues.Process Optimization & Material Sourcing: apply lamination/coating/web-handling principles to improve yields and bond strength; drive cost and margin improvements; support capital investments for labs and future tech.New Product & Market Development: lead NPI projects from material selection to launch; evaluate new technologies; develop test plans for aerospace interior systems; align with customers (Boeing, Airbus, Embraer) and business development to define tech roadmaps.
