Finishing Digital Finisher

Job Title: Digicon & Finishing Operator Position Objective: The Digicon & Finishing Operator is responsible for the set up and operation of the digital finishing machine. Job Description Role and Responsibilities: Ensures that product is finished according to specifications. Reviews job tickets and verifies finished rolls as specified. Performs line clearance by following line clearance SOP. Sets up machine; installs dies, and correct stock. Adjusts the finishing machine to the paper size and feeds the paper through the cylinders Completes all start-up checks, verifies scan ability of bar code, and gets start approval. Completes in-process inspections; follows work instructions and control plan. Finishes job by verifying end to start approval. Closes out job by completing paperwork and placing in ticket with product. Follows 6S guidelines assigned to work area and surrounding areas. Duties may be changed or additional duties assigned. Qualifications and Education Requirements: Requires a high school diploma or general education degree (GED). Preferred Skills: Quality conscious and customer focused. Self-directed individual with outstanding decision making and problem-solving skills. Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Software including Outlook and have the ability to learn company specialized software programs. Physical Demands: Works in a manufacturing environment and will be required to wear hearing, foot, and/or other personal protective equipment while performing duties in a manufacturing setting. Must be able to move freely throughout the plant. Proficiency and understanding of a tape measure is required. May be on feet 8 hours a day with need to stand, walk, kneel, crawl, crouch, stoop, bend, climb, as needed. Moderate to frequent lifting and/or moving up to 40 lbs. is required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close & distance vision, ability to adjust focus, peripheral and depth perception. The noise level in the work environment is usually medium to loud. Must be flexible to work varying schedules and hours as needed.
