Job Title: Transport & RAN Synchronisation EngineerLocation: Fully RemoteTechnology Focus: RAN Synchronisation, Nokia AirScale/SRAN, Transport NetworksOverviewWe are seeking a skilled Transport & RAN Synchronisation Engineer to support network activities across transport and radio access networks within a large-scale mobile telecommunications environment. The role will focus on ensuring accurate network synchronisation across 4G and 5G infrastructures, working closely with both transport and RAN domains in a multi-vendor ecosystem.This position offers the opportunity to work on critical synchronisation solutions that underpin network performance, reliability, and advanced radio capabilities across modern mobile networks.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the design, implementation, and optimisation of network synchronisation across transport and RAN environments.Ensure accurate frequency, phase, and time synchronisation for 4G and 5G services.Troubleshoot and resolve synchronisation-related issues affecting network performance.Collaborate with cross-functional teams across transport, radio, and operations domains.Contribute to the delivery and maintenance of synchronisation solutions within multi-vendor network environments.Support deployment and operational activities across both FDD and TDD network architectures.Required Skills & ExperienceRAN Synchronisation ExpertiseStrong understanding of mobile network synchronisation principles, including:Frequency synchronisationPhase synchronisationTime synchronisationExperience supporting synchronisation requirements in 4G and 5G networks, particularly within TDD environments.Timing & Synchronisation TechnologiesHands-on experience with:GNSS/GPS timing solutionsSynchronous Ethernet (SyncE)Precision Time Protocol (PTP – IEEE 1588v2)Network Time Protocol (NTP)Transport Network KnowledgeGood understanding of:Ethernet and Layer 2 technologiesIP/MPLS and Layer 3 transport networksMicrowave transmission and backhaul solutionsRAN TechnologiesProven experience working with Nokia AirScale/SRAN platforms (essential).Exposure to Ericsson RAN solutions would be advantageous.Qualifications & BackgroundMinimum 5 years of experience within telecommunications engineering.Strong background in transport and/or RAN network environments.Experience supporting 4G and 5G network deployments across both FDD and TDD technologies.Demonstrated expertise in synchronisation implementation, optimisation, and troubleshooting.Ability to work independently within a remote, collaborative environment.
