Base salary: $90,000-$120,000, based on experience

TES Recruiting is partnering with an established custom industrial equipment manufacturer to hire an experienced Controls Engineer. This is a hands-on, full-cycle machine-controls role supporting complex conveyor and material-handling equipment from electrical design and programming through testing, startup, and commissioning.
Responsibilities
* Design, develop, test, troubleshoot, and commission electrical control systems for custom industrial machinery and conveyor systems.
* Develop and modify Allen-Bradley/Rockwell PLC and HMI programs using Studio 5000 and FactoryTalk. Projects may use existing seed programs, but the engineer must be capable of developing programs from scratch when required.
* Create complete electrical control schematics, wiring diagrams, electrical panel layouts, and bills of materials.
* Select and integrate PLCs, HMIs, drives, sensors, motors, and related control components.
* Support equipment testing, installation, startup, commissioning, and corrective troubleshooting.
* Maintain accurate electrical drawings, software programs, control documentation, and equipment data.
* Work with engineering, manufacturing, field service, technicians, and other internal teams to deliver reliable customer solutions.
* Provide technical guidance to technicians and respond to controls-related questions during build, testing, and field support.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or at least five years of closely related experience as a Controls Engineer or Automation Specialist.
* At least four years of electrical or controls engineering experience in an industrial, manufacturing, custom-machinery, OEM, or systems-integration environment.
* Required hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell PLCs and Studio 5000.
* Demonstrated PLC and HMI programming experience, including program development, modification, and troubleshooting.
* Experience creating electrical schematics, panel layouts, wiring documentation, and bills of materials.
* Experience with FactoryTalk, PanelView, PowerFlex 525 drives, sensors, motors, and industrial automation equipment is strongly preferred.
* AutoCAD or AutoCAD Electrical experience is preferred.
* Siemens PLC experience is a major plus but is not required.
* Ability to travel up to approximately 10% for project support, startup, commissioning, or troubleshooting.
This position is onsite in Plano, Texas. It is not a remote or hybrid role.
