Software Engineer — Data Platform

Overview In this role you will own and evolve Conductor, the data and operations platform for a robotics program. You will work closely with researchers and robotics engineers to build scalable backend services, data pipelines, and intelligent workflows. You will tackle ingestion, indexing, validation, and serving of large robotics datasets while improving reliability and observability. This position offers autonomy, direct impact on production systems, and opportunities to shape data-driven research workflows with AI-assisted tooling. ResponsibilitiesBuild reliable backend services, APIs, and data pipelines using Python and Go across PostgreSQL and AWS/S3Design systems for ingesting, indexing, transforming, validating, and serving large robotics datasetsDevelop agentic and LLM-powered workflows for data quality, enrichment, automation, and research productivity with evaluations and guardrailsImprove performance, observability, correctness, and operational reliability across the platformWork end-to-end: clarify requirements, make pragmatic design choices, implement, test, deploy, and iterate with users Key requirementsExceptional software engineering fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, systems, databases, debuggingBackend/data systems experience with substantial backend or distributed data-intensive projectsProficiency in Go and Python with SQL knowledgeExperience with PostgreSQL and cloud storage (AWS/S3)strong ownershipintellectual curiositysound judgmentGoPythonSQL
