Senior Associate, Property Tax Compliance

Our Property Tax – Complex Advisory/Compliance Senior Associate will assist in leading a team of personal property analysts who are responsible for full property tax cycle management on behalf of Kroll’s roster of clients in the power generation, midstream, telecommunications, and complex sectors. Property tax cycle management includes analysis and review of value positions taken in returns/renditions, analyzing assessment work papers and valuation notices, interfacing with assessment officials on property tax protests (both formal and informal), and coordinating with clients on tax accrual and bill payment issues.This position is hybrid out of any of the following offices, Richardson, Houston or Austin, TX.Day-to-day ResponsibilitiesGathering data on valuation analytics (income approach valuations, obsolescence calculations, etc.)Client communications on data requests and inquiries regarding property tax mattersReturn and rendition preparation based on client dataReview of assessor workpapers, models, and valuation inputs and comparisons to renditionsContact with assessors to gather assessment information, file appeals, process settlement documents, coordinate with valuation team members and communicate with clientsAssist with driving business development activities, both individually and a part of a teamAssisting as needed in the oversight, management, and functions of property tax compliance – asset preparation, return/rendition preparation and review, tax bill processing, and management reportingCoordinating with off site team members on mail responsibilities, returns, notice processing and bill payment processingEssential TraitsBachelor’s or associates degree in a business-related field or equivalent years of property tax related experience3 years or more of relevant personal property tax compliance and/or advisory experienceExcellent project management and presentation skills, including superior verbal and written communication skillsExcellent relationship management skills and an entrepreneurial spiritKnowledge of personal property taxes and procedures of various state and local jurisdictionsExtensive experience in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word and Office OutlookQuick learner and ability to work with teams and individuallyYour recruiter will be happy to walk you through your U.S.-specific benefits, which include:Healthcare Coverage: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plans.Time Off and Leave Policies: Generous paid time off (PTO), paid company holidays, generous parental and family leave.Protective Insurances: Life insurance, short- and long-term disability coverage, and accident protection.Compensation and Rewards: Competitive salary structures, performance-based incentives, and merit-based compensation reviews.Retirement Plans: 401(k) plans with company matching.Please note that benefits may vary by region, department and role.
