Job Details Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,000 - $2,100 Location: Des Moines, IA 50314 (Des Moines healthcare / Iowa nursing jobs) Setting: Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) — LTAC nurse role Employment Type: Travel Contract / Travel Nurse Position Duration: 13 weeks Hours per Week: 36 Shift: 12 Hour Nights (3x12) — Night Shift RN Start Date: ASAP Job Requirements Minimum 2 years of bedside clinical experience; LTAC, critical care, thoracic surgery, surgical pathology, sub-acute, pediatric PACU, or pediatric OR experience preferred Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (compact or state license as required for travel nursing) BLS Certification required prior to first shift ACLS Certification required prior to first shift Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and patient rehabilitation skills Previous travel nursing experience or contract experience a plus Responsibilities Deliver high-quality patient care in an LTAC setting by following and updating individualized nursing care plans Perform nursing assessments within 8 hours of admission and develop/implement individualized care plans Supervise Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees; provide training and direction Participate in multidisciplinary patient rehabilitation programs and direct patient care using the nursing process Identify patient and family teaching needs; initiate discharge planning and patient education from admission Provide timely, accurate documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record Communicate clinical changes in patient status to physicians and interdisciplinary care team members Assume charge nurse responsibilities as needed after orientation Promote patient and employee safety by adhering to hospital policies, procedures, and infection control standards Engage in ongoing professional growth and continuing education to maintain clinical competence Contribute positively to team building and a supportive work environment Apply now to join our Des Moines LTAC team — ideal for RN travel nurses and LTAC specialists.
