This role involves performing advanced microbiological and molecular analyses to detect, isolate, and identify enteric pathogens such as Salmonella, E. coli, Shigella, Vibrio, Listeria, and Campylobacter.The ideal candidate will have hands-on laboratory experience, strong analytical skills, and familiarity with molecular techniques including PCR and sequencing. This position also plays a critical role in maintaining quality standards in compliance with CLIA regulations. Key ResponsibilitiesPerform microbiological and molecular testing including culture, biochemical assays, EIA, PCR, serotyping, and Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS) Conduct isolation and identification of microorganisms from clinical specimens Extract nucleic acids using manual and automated techniques Utilize advanced tools such as PCR, sequencing platforms, and MALDI-TOF Analyze, interpret, and validate laboratory test results Maintain accurate records of specimen processing and test outcomes Ensure compliance with CLIA quality control and quality assurance standards Perform routine quality control checks on instruments, reagents, and procedures Monitor inventory and order laboratory supplies as needed Assist in preparing epidemiological and statistical reports Identify and troubleshoot issues affecting test performance and escalate as needed Participate in proficiency testing and maintain competency across assigned areas Support cross-training in molecular, virology, serology, and related lab areas Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Biology, Microbiology, or related scientific field Knowledge of microbiology principles, laboratory techniques, and safety protocols Understanding of CLIA regulations and laboratory compliance standards Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and handle high-complexity testing Preferred QualificationsMinimum 2 years of laboratory experience Experience in a molecular biology laboratory Hands-on experience with PCR, sequencing, or NGS workflows Familiarity with automated laboratory systems and analytical instruments Key SkillsMicrobiology & Molecular Biology Techniques PCR, WGS, Sequencing, MALDI-TOF Quality Control & Quality Assurance Data Analysis & Reporting Laboratory Safety & Compliance Attention to Detail & Critical Thinking Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) StatementTrilyon, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
