Reporting to the General Manager, this role will lead the accounting and controllership function while partnering closely with executive and operational leadership. This position plays a key role in driving financial reporting integrity, internal controls, and compliance for a rapidly growing defense contractor, offering high visibility and the opportunity to influence strategic and operational decision-making. The ideal candidate must have manufacturing experience, a CPA certification, and SOX compliance experience.Perks:Highly visible positionBroad ownership across accounting, treasury, internal controls, and complianceCompetitive compensation with a strong benefits packageResponsibilities:Lead all accounting operations and financial reporting for the business unit, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and GAAP complianceOversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, including consolidated reporting packagesDirect budgeting, forecasting, treasury, and cash flow management activitiesOwn and maintain a strong internal controls environment in accordance with SOX requirementsEnsure compliance with GAAP, FAR, DFARS, tax, and other applicable regulatory requirementsLead all external audit activities and manage relationships with auditors and outside advisorsPartner with executive leadership to evaluate business performance and support strategic decision-makingBuild, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance and accounting organizationDrive improvements to financial systems, processes, and reporting infrastructurePresent financial results, forecasts, and strategic recommendations to senior leadershipSupport cost accounting, contract compliance, and government-contracting reporting requirementsServe as a key finance business partner across operations and cross-functional teamsEvaluate and strengthen scalability of finance operations to support continued company growthRequirements:Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or other relevant field requiredCPA, CMA, or equivalent professional certification8–12+ years of progressive finance/accounting experienceAerospace & Defense or Government Contracting industry experience is highly desiredStrong working knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and DoD contracting requirementsSOX compliance experience requiredERP experience (SAP, Oracle, Epicor, or NetSuite)Strong executive presence with proven experience partnering with senior leadershipEmail your word document resume to Hayley.h@conexusrecruiting.com and reference the subject as Group Controller
