Controller

Stratfield is seeking an Controller to join our growing client. This person will oversee core accounting operations and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting. This role is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting activities, leading the close process, and providing financial insights to support business operations and decision-making. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys working in a growing, dynamic organization and can balance operational execution with process improvement.This is a permanent position that will be fully onsite in the Roswell area. Sponsorship is not available for this position.Key Responsibilities:Accounting & Financial ReportingOversee general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed assetsManage monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processesPrepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAPEnsure compliance with applicable regulatory and reporting requirementsLeadership & Team OversightLead and develop a small accounting teamEstablish and maintain internal controls and accounting policiesPromote accountability and continuous improvement within the accounting functionBudgeting & ForecastingLead the annual budgeting process and ongoing forecastsMonitor financial performance and provide variance analysisPartner with leadership on financial planning and analysisCash Management & OperationsOversee cash flow and working capital managementSupport improvements to financial systems and processesProvide financial support for operational initiativesAudit & ComplianceCoordinate external audits and tax-related activitiesMaintain audit readiness and supporting documentationEnsure adherence to GAAP and internal policiesQualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or FinanceCPA strongly preferred7+ years of progressive accounting experiencePrior experience in a Controller or Assistant Controller capacity preferredExperience managing or mentoring accounting staffStrong knowledge of GAAP and financial reportingHands-on and detail-oriented approachStrong leadership and communication skillsAnalytical mindset with problem-solving capabilityAbility to work cross-functionallyExperience improving accounting processes and systemsAbout Stratfield:We started Stratfield Consulting with the belief that companies are looking for a more reliable consulting firm to deliver an expanding list of projects.
