NOTICE OF POSSIBLE WAIVER: To expedite the hiring for this position, the hiring supervisor may apply for a waiver to prevent disruption of necessary instructional or support services.Bullitt Alternative Center is seeking a dedicated Instructional Assistant to support student learning and work collaboratively with our school team.Position OverviewThe Instructional Assistant will work closely with certified teachers to:Provide instruction to students individually and in small groupsSupport positive student behavior and classroom managementCollaborate with staff to promote student academic and behavioral successCollect and track student data to inform instructional decisionsPosition DetailsHours: 6.5 hours per day (plus a 30 minute unpaid lunch)Contract Length: 185 days per year170 student instructional days4 holidays7 planning days4 extended daysContract Adjustments: Contracted days will be prorated based on the start dateEmployment Status: Full-time with benefitsMinimum QualificationsEducation: High school diploma or equivalent (required)Must provide a copy to HR upon recommendation for hire.Experience: New employees may bring in up to 10 years of comparable, full-time, verified experience.The hired applicant is responsible for submitting the BCPS Verification of Experience Form to prior employers for completion and return to HR.CompensationStep 0: $15.98/hourStep 10: $19.67/hourAlthough classified positions are paid hourly, pay is spread evenly across 26 paychecks per year.This position is considered a 10-month employee, with 4 paychecks issued at the end of June.Salary Formula: Hours per day × Hourly rate = Daily rate Daily rate × Contracted days = Annual salary.
