We are seeking an experienced architect or senior technical designer to work with our team on a consulting basis approximately two days per week.This role is ideal for a creative architect that enjoys creative design and helping translate design intent into clear, buildable construction documentation.We are looking for a practitioner with deep knowledge of residential architecture, millwork design, furniture detailing, and construction documentation.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and oversee millwork and furniture drawingsReview and refine drawing sets produced by the design teamEnsure drawing packages clearly communicate design intent and construction requirementsReview plans and details before they are issued to architects, consultants, contractors, and fabricatorsEstablish drawing standards and improve consistency across project documentationProvide technical guidance and mentorship to junior designersAssist with architectural detailing and coordination throughout project developmentIdentify potential construction, coordination, or documentation issues before they reach the fieldSupport the team in developing a stronger understanding of architectural processes and best practicesIdeal CandidateLicensed architect or highly experienced architectural professionalSignificant experience in residential architecture and custom interiorsStrong understanding of millwork construction, cabinetry, furniture detailing, and fabrication processesAbility to produce and review detailed sections, elevations, and construction detailsDeep familiarity with how custom cabinetry and architectural millwork are actually builtExperience coordinating with contractors, fabricators, and consultantsStrong AutoCAD proficiencyExcellent communication and mentoring skillsComfortable working collaboratively within a small studio environmentWhat Success Looks LikeSuccess in this role means elevating the technical quality of the firm's work.We are seeking someone who can help create clear, consistent, and buildable drawing packages while strengthening the technical knowledge of our team over time.The ideal candidate will become a trusted resource within the studio—someone who helps bridge the gap between design intent and construction reality.Position DetailsConsulting positionApproximately two days per weekHybrid role with regular in-person time requiredMust be located in the Los Angeles areaOffice located in Eagle RockPlease SubmitResume or CVRelevant project experienceExamples of millwork, cabinetry, furniture, or architectural detail drawingsBrief description of your experience working with custom residential projects and fabrication teams Please email resumes to alison@outfithome.com
