Corporate Controller

Century Group is partnering with a client who is seeking a Corporate Controller to join their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary $250,000 to $300,000 per year. Job Responsibilities: Prepare and oversee the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements (income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements), ensuring accuracy and efficiency. Develop and maintain timely and accurate financial statements and reports that are appropriate for the users and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems, ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements. Manage and optimize payroll processes for dealership staff. Coordinate audits and proper filing of tax returns. Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, managing work allocation, training, problem resolution, performance evaluation, and the building of an effective team dynamic. Assist the CFO in developing and managing financial policies and procedures. Ensure that record-keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies. Requirements/Experience: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification is required. 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3-5 years in a management role. Automotive retail industry experience highly preferred. Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting. Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Excellent analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
