Hydraulic Engineer
Akel Engineering Group is an established firm with a successful track record for completing water resource planning studies and digital twin based hydraulic models and master plans throughout the state of California. The firm has a great job opportunity for a water resource engineer with 1-5 years of experience in hydrologic and hydraulic engineering to join our team. The position includes working on developing state-of-the-art Digital Twins (computer models that mimic real world) for water/wastewater/stormwater pipeline infrastructure hydraulic, hydrology, and condition. This is a great opportunity to grow in an advanced technology environment, with a Monday-Friday flexible work hours (8:00am-5:00pm).
H&H is very remote-friendly, though only available for experienced applicants. Entry-level applicants will be considered for work in Fresno, California.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop hydraulic models for water distribution and wastewater collection systems, perform hydraulic analysis, and recommend system enhancements.
Organize data in tables and figures, and analyze data using MS Excel, GIS, and other modeling analysis tools.
Coordinate with other team members and project managers. Manage and execute complex assignments to meet client goals as described in scope and meet schedule and budget constraints.
Prepare comprehensive technical reports and planning level cost estimates.
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering.
1-5 years direct experience in H&H for water, sewer and storm systems.
Analytical thinker and problem solver.
Strong technical writing skills.
Organizational and analytical skills with high attention to detail. Work efficiently and accurately with little supervision
Ability to apply common sense in areas of responsibility.
Personable and professional demeanor. High work ethics.
Proficiency with modeling, data management, and related software packages a plus (AquaTwin Water/Sewer/Asset, InfoWater Pro, InfoWorks ICM, PCSWMM, HEC-RAS,ArcGIS)

SALARY
Starting salary depends on experience and skills in hydrology and hydraulics.
