Control Engineer
POSITION TITLE: Controls Engineer

JOB SUMMARY
Plans, directs and coordinates technical aspects of manufacturing processes in operation of plant to ensure on-time product launches and shipments.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develops estimates for equipment, processes, tooling and labor for new products or changes to existing products
Review projects including quotes, job specifications and resolves any differences in-between
Systems Architecture including non-standard material and control panel power requirements & distributions
Reviews specifications and standard practices – inclusive of internal hardwired and logic standards.
Material ordering responsibilities, including advanced orders
Assisting with Installation
Debugging, launch, standby
Ability to work on a team and independent
Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
Participates with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
Coordinates with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
Designs tools, fixtures, product/part, and machines.
Performs manufacturing cost estimating and feasibility studies.
Implements productivity and efficiency improvements.
Assists in establishing advanced quality engineering standards and procedures
Takes the lead role in project development and implementation
Participates in cross-functional teams procuring new technology, equipment, and processes, launching new processes and production equipment.
Development and application of advanced technology.
Empowerment to initiate corrective actions when problems which impact the quality of the product and /or quality system are identified.
Coordinates all activities of assigned project to meet timing and budget constraints.
Initiates and completes ECN's for new or existing products/processes.
Responsible for adherence to all company safety and housekeeping rules.
SKILLS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor of Science in Engineering, manufacturing experience preferred but not required. 3 – 5 years of experience.
Must have strong analytical skills, problem solving skills and communication skills.
Knowledge in mechanical principles, machining practices, assembly and fabrication techniques, PPAP, and FMEA.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Physical demands required: Occasional lifting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, and fingering.
Environmental conditions: Exposure to noise, atmospheric conditions and moving mechanical parts of equipment, tools or machinery.
