2nd Shift- Quality Technician I
Brief DescriptionPOSITION SUMMARY The Quality Technician I is responsible for activities related to the application and maintenance of quality assurance standards for company products. With direction from the Quality Manager, the Quality Technician I, assesses the conformity of product and processes to specifications, standards, and instructions as well as contributes to improvement in the Cost of Quality by promoting safety and quality while working with other departments. The Quality Technician I, performs these duties with minimal direction and supervision.Essential FunctionsEssential Functions Statement(s) Inform Quality team of quality issues with the potential to stop production Ensure that established procedures and processes are being followedProvide support to production for quality-related items/issues as neededPerform product and process audits as requiredComplete end-of-shift reports in order to share information between shifts where applicableInspect product in production, receiving inspection, and RT as requiredVersed in MT process for transfers to RT and rework process as requiredCollaborate with the production team to resolve issues Any other duties assigned by SupervisorSkills & AbilitiesEducation: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Experience: 0-3 years of plant level operations/quality experience in a high mix/medium volume environment is preferred.Computer Skills:Basic computer skills with familiarity with AS400, Microsoft office tools such as Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.Certificates & Licenses: Company certification(s)- wiring, leak test, run test, brazing (understanding) or ability to acquire based on level requirements.Other Requirements:Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, procedures manuals, wire diagrams & drawings, assembly directions, engineering and manufacturing decoders. Ability to write simple correspondence. Understand time phase schedule for production support. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
