SummaryWork with Quality Engineering and cross-functional team members to improve product quality, process performance and reduce customer issues. (Data collection, analysis, reporting). Report on the key performance indicators (KPIs) and identify opportunities for improvement. Promote a quality culture throughout the manufacturing facility through encouraging and auditing adherence to process requirements.ResponsibilitiesA Quality Technician may be required to support or perform duties related to various focus areas. General responsibilities of different types of activities that may be assigned include but are not limited to the following:Quality Engineering TechnicianSupport quality issues raised by shift production lines to implement real-time Interim Containment Actions and mitigate production continuity disruptionsIssue and train on quality alerts required to ensure conforming product being used as neededAudit/coach on interim containment and corrective actions implemented Conduct corrective action trials/pilots with production team membersConduct process and/or production audits for compliance lead corrective action initiatives as necessaryDevelop or report on production process performance metricsSupport the suspect material assessment activities (MRB process).Monitor, evaluate, and report on operation audit data and plant non-conforming product metricsLead problem solving methodology (e.g. 8D, A3, etc.) with cross functional teams to identify, address and implement corrective actions using appropriate problem solving toolsSupport adherence and deployment of production processes as necessary to drive process standardization and alignment with IATF16949 and customer requirements Support product qualification activity for new product launches and change management initiatives Lead initiatives to review PFMEA and Control Plans for accuracy and compliancePromote a quality culture through periodic quality tool training sessions with shop floor business partners Lead and coordinate supplier part manufacturing trials as necessary.Support quality or engineering hold activities to ensure suspect parts are physically identified and containedOther assigned work as neededSupplier Quality TechnicianResponsible to notify supplier and lead root cause analysis and problem solving activities with the supplier related to supplier quality issues and communicate status with applicable cross-functional team members. Lead and coordinate supplier part manufacturing trials as necessary.Maintain the MRR (material rejection report) log. Communicate with suppliers to address concerns and improve the ATC-Supplier relationships.Facilitate and coordinate return and shipment of non-conforming material to suppliers.Support the suspect material assessment activities (MRB process).Communicate, evaluate, and approve supplier PPAP requirements.Monitor key supplier performance metrics provide reports as appropriateWork with Purchasing partners to support product continuity issues, evaluate alternative part qualification requirements, and/or escalate supplier containment or corrective action roadblocks.Support quality or engineering hold activities to ensure suspect parts are physically identified and containedOther assigned work as neededQualificationsAssociates degree in a manufacturing, design, quality, or related field; or 2 or more years related work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to read and understand component and/or assembly drawings.Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel.Ability to understand and follow standard work or technical instructions. Preferred QualificationsASQ Certified Quality TechnicianHas a detailed knowledge of Industry standard problem solving and lean tools
