The ideal candidate will have at least two years of recent L&D experience and be skilled in providing comprehensive care to mothers and newborns throughout the labor and delivery process, particularly during night shifts.Key Responsibilities:Provide direct nursing care to patients during labor, delivery, and the immediate postpartum periodMonitor maternal and fetal vital signs, including fetal heart rate monitoringAssist physicians and midwives during labor and delivery proceduresAdminister medications, IV therapies, and epidurals as orderedSupport and educate patients and families throughout the childbirth processRespond to obstetric emergencies and perform appropriate interventionsMaintain accurate and timely patient documentation in EMR systemsCollaborate with obstetricians, neonatologists, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomesEnsure adherence to hospital policies, safety standards, and infection control protocolsRequired Qualifications:Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in Labor & Delivery nursingActive RN license in the state of Iowa (or compact state license)BLS (Basic Life Support) certification requiredACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification preferredNRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification requiredFetal Monitoring certification preferredStrong clinical assessment and critical thinking skillsExcellent communication and patient care abilitiesAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, especially during night shiftsAbout United Health Care Staffing, Inc."Better Pay" and "Zero Headaches" and Ready to love your scrubs again?At United Health Care Staffing, we don't just fill shifts; we fulfill bucket lists.
