Project Manager - HFC / Telecom Construction - Hutto, TX
OverviewOur client is a growing telecom construction company supporting a major cable provider with ongoing HFC network construction, maintenance, and upgrade projects across central Texas. We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead day-to-day operations at the Hutto, TX job site.The RoleThis is a hands-on PM role overseeing BAU (business as usual) HFC construction operations - coax/fiber maintenance, node splits, line extensions, service drops, school and commercial connect, and small construction projects. You will manage crews, coordinate with the client, track production, and ensure quality and safety standards are met daily. Ideal candidates have a cable/HFC construction background and understand the pace and expectations of working with a major MSO.ResponsibilitiesManage daily HFC construction and maintenance operations across active job sites in the Hutto / Austin areaCoordinate internal crews and subcontractors for coax splicing, aerial and underground construction, node work, line extensions, and service activationsServe as the primary point of contact with the client - attend production meetings, manage work orders, and ensure SLA complianceTrack daily production metrics, crew assignments, and project milestones; prepare weekly status reportsConduct site walks and quality inspections to verify work meets client specifications and industry standardsManage permitting, utility locates, and municipal coordination for right-of-way accessMaintain accurate documentation including as-builts, daily logs, work orders, and change ordersEnsure all work is performed safely and in compliance with OSHA standards and client safety requirementsManage project budgets and material inventory; identify cost efficiencies without sacrificing qualityQualifications3-5+ years of project management experience in HFC, cable, or telecom constructionDirect experience with HFC plant construction and maintenance - coax, nodes, amps, taps, line extensions, service dropsBackground working with or for a major cable MSO (e.g., managing BAU construction programs, upgrades, or network expansion)Strong understanding of aerial construction, underground placement, and coax/fiber splicing operationsExperience managing field crews and coordinating multiple subcontractors simultaneouslyProficiency with work order management systems, production tracking, and construction documentationFamiliarity with RF fundamentals and HFC network architecture preferredStrong communication skills - comfortable running client production meetings and managing daily expectationsOSHA 10 or 30 certification preferredValid driver's license and ability to travel between job sites in the greater Austin / Hutto area
