Lead Backend Developer

Role : Tech Lead (Backend – Java/Python)Location : Charlotte, NC (Hybrid)Experience: 8–12 YearsRole OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled Backend Tech Lead to drive the design and development of scalable, high-performance backend systems. The role involves leading backend architecture, workflow orchestration, and metadata services design while guiding a team of engineers to deliver robust microservices-based solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the design and development of backend applications, ensuring scalability, performance, and reliabilityArchitect and implement workflow orchestration and metadata servicesDefine and develop REST APIs and microservices-based architectureProvide technical leadership, including design reviews, code reviews, and best practices enforcementCollaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutionsDrive API governance, integration design, and API gateway strategiesEnsure application quality through testing, monitoring, and performance optimisationMentor and guide team members, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvementRequired SkillsStrong expertise in Java (Spring Boot) and/or Python backend frameworksHands-on experience in backend application design and distributed systemsProficiency in microservices architecture and REST API developmentExperience in workflow orchestration and metadata services designKnowledge of API gateways and integration patternsUnderstanding of event-driven architecture (Kafka is an added advantage)Experience with SQL/NoSQL databasesFamiliarity with cloud platforms and DevOps practices (preferred)Good to HaveExposure to Kafka or similar streaming platformsExperience with containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes)Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
