Diesel Senior Technician

Job Description Job Title: Experienced Diesel Technician (Cummins / Caterpillar Specialist)Job Summary:We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Diesel Technician with expertise in Cummins and/or Caterpillar engines and equipment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines and related systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.Key Responsibilities:Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in diesel engines and heavy equipmentPerform repairs and maintenance on Cummins and Caterpillar engines, generators, and machineryUse diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot engine faults and system failuresConduct routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and overhaulsInterpret technical manuals, schematics, and service bulletinsEnsure all work meets safety standards and manufacturer specificationsMaintain accurate service records and documentationCommunicate effectively with service advisors, supervisors, and customersQualifications:Minimum of 3–5+ years of experience working with diesel enginesProven experience with Cummins and/or Caterpillar equipment requiredStrong knowledge of diesel engine systems, including fuel, electrical, emissions, and hydraulicsExperience using OEM diagnostic software (e.g., INSITE, CAT ET)Ability to read and interpret technical documents and schematicsValid driver's license (CDL preferred but not required)Preferred Certifications:OEM certifications from Cummins or CaterpillarASE Diesel Certification (T2–T8)Technical school or trade program completionSkills & Attributes:Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsAttention to detail and commitment to quality workmanshipAbility to work independently and as part of a teamStrong work ethic and reliabilityWorking Conditions:Shop and field service environmentsMay require lifting heavy components (50+ lbs)Exposure to varying weather conditions, noise, and diesel fumesCompensation & Benefits:Competitive pay based on experienceHealth, dental, and vision insurancePaid time off and holidaysOngoing training and career development opportunities
