The Director of Accounting reports to the CFO and is responsible for leading all accounting functions for Arvato North America, ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of financial records and reporting. This role provides strategic and operational leadership across general ledger, month-end close, financial reporting, internal controls, payroll, indirect tax, and insurance, while partnering closely with other Finance and Business functions. The director of Accounting also collaborates with the central treasury team to manage payments.YOUR TASKSLead and manage all accounting operations, including general ledger, month-end and year-end close, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparationEnsure compliance with IFRS, internal accounting policies, and corporate reporting requirementsOversee payroll and indirect taxOversee preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting schedulesPartner with Finance leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysisMaintain and enhance internal controls, accounting policies, and standard operating procedures to ensure audit readiness and complianceServe as the primary accounting point of contact for internal and external audits; coordinate audit requests and remediation of findingsLead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, including performance management, succession planning, and talent developmentSupport system implementations, process improvements, and automation initiatives to drive efficiency and accuracyCollaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Tax, Legal, HR, and Corporate Finance to support business initiativesOversee the preparation of P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow StatementAny additional tasks that may arise to ensure an efficient, compliant, and goal-oriented work environmentYOUR PROFILEBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field requiredMinimum of 8 years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibilityPreviously held overall responsibility for yearly close and auditsExpert knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting requirementsStrong leadership and people management skills with experience building high-performing teamsAdvanced analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skillsExperience working with ERP systems and financial reporting toolsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentStrong communication skills with the ability to partner effectively across all levels of the organizationPrevious experience in a multi-entity, corporate, manufacturing, logistics, or service-based environment preferredCPA strongly preferredWork location: This position will be located in one of the following locations: Valencia, CA / Louisville, KY / Boston, MA / Miami, FLWE OFFERBase salary range: $150,000 - $200,000. This range represents the expected base salary compensation before bonus for this role across multiple geographic locations.
