Join a rapidly growing organization with a strategic vision and dynamic plan.We are seeking a Senior Managerto join our team.The Senior Manager, Accounting & Advisory provides leadership and strategic oversight across Tax, Audit, and Accounting Services at Abacus!. This role ensures high-quality service delivery, strengthens client relationships, drives growth, and mentors a team of accounting professionals.The Senior Manager is a client-focused leader responsible for delivering high-quality accounting, tax, and audit services in compliance with all applicable regulations and standards. This role combines technical expertise, leadership, and strategic thinking to manage client engagements, oversee complex projects, and develop team members.Key ResponsibilitiesTax & Audit LeadershipOversee preparation and review of tax returns (federal, state, local)Ensure compliance with tax laws and auditing standardsLead audit planning and execution; evaluate internal controls and recommend improvementsCoordinate with external auditors and manage audit timelinesClient ManagementBuild and maintain strong client relationshipsIdentify client needs and deliver tailored accounting solutionsAdvise on financial strategy, risk management, and business planningTeam Leadership & DevelopmentSupervise, mentor, and develop accounting staffManage workloads and conduct performance evaluationsFoster a collaborative, high-performing team environmentStrategic Growth & OperationsSupport business development and firm growth initiativesIdentify opportunities to expand client servicesDrive process improvements and leverage technology to increase efficiencyQuality, Compliance & Professional StandardsEnsure accuracy, compliance, and high-quality deliverables across engagementsMaintain current knowledge of industry regulations and best practicesUphold confidentiality, ethics, and professional standardsQualifications & SkillsStrong technical expertise in tax, audit, and accountingProven leadership and team development experienceStrategic and analytical thinking skillsExcellent client relationship and communication skillsStrong organization, time management, and problem-solving abilitiesEducation & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldCPA required; additional certifications (e.g., CMA) preferred8+ years of progressive public accounting experienceExperience managing client engagements and supervising staffProficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with QuickBooks, UltraTax, and AdvanceFlow preferredSupervisory ResponsibilityThis role oversees accounting managers and professional staff and reports directly to a Partner.Work Environment & ExpectationsFull-time, exempt positionStandard office hours with flexibility; additional hours may be required during peak periodsLocation & TravelBased in Louisville, KY, with collaboration across all Abacus! locations and remote team members.Physical RequirementsThe role requires standard office-related physical activities, including communication and computer use.
