Material Handler

Job description Aalchem, LLC, is a wholesale chemical distributor established in January 2002 and headquartered in Grand Rapids, Michigan. From two employees during its first year of operation in 2002, Aalchem has grown to a staff of over 75 employees whose dedication is instrumental in ensuring that our customers get the chemical products they need on a timely basis. To support our growth, Aalchem is seeking an experienced Material Handler to join our team. This position is responsible for performing an array of duties such as receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders from stock, packing and shipping orders, managing, organizing and retrieving stock, etc. Specific responsibilities will include: Completing shipments by processing and loading orders. Preparing orders by processing requests and supply orders; pulling materials; packing boxes; placing orders in delivery area. Maintaining truck or van by completing preventive maintenance requirements. Enforcing inventory controls by collecting stock location orders and printing requests. Providing quality service by following organization standards. Completing reports by entering required information. Contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Qualified candidates will meet the following requirements: Warehouse experience in a distribution environment preferred. High school diploma/GED preferred. Strong attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple priorities, patience, and flexibility. Exceptional interpersonal skills and the willingness to work as part of a team. Ability to read and write; count and verify numbers. Physical demands & abilities Must pass Hi-Lo Certification within one week. Frequently standing, twisting, pushing, pulling and walking. Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs on a consistent basis.
