Land Systems continues to work with the US Armed Forces and its Allies to ensure these vehicles remain survivable, relevant, flexible, affordable and capable of addressing a dynamic threat environment.Responsibilities to Anticipate for this RoleThe Material Handler is responsible for receiving incoming material from vendors, move/transact materials to production, and package finished goods for shipment in an accurate and timely manner. Assist with inventory control functions such as cycle counting and physical inventories when necessary.Perform receiving and shipping functions per procedure using the inventory control systemLoad and unload freightPerform necessary transactional functions related to inventory receipts, issues, sub inventory movement and shipmentsPerform general area housekeepingAssist team members in the attainment of team goals by substituting and assisting in areas wherever neededConduct continuous improvement projects as neededConduct physical inventories as scheduledMonitor and improve the following measurements: 98% minimum inventory record accuracy, all transactions performed per established procedure on an accurate and timely basis as periodically set by the supervisor, response time for internal and external customers, and shipping related performance (impact on customer).Performs other related duties to benefit the mission of the organization.Required Skills & QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GEDMust have a valid driver licenseAbility to obtain forklift license2+ years' experience as a material handler desiredAbility to safely lift and carry up to 30lbsBasic mathematics skills and unit of measure conversion neededManufacturing experience strongly desiredKeen attention to detail and qualityMust have excellent vision and good hand-eye coordination.Professional and effective communication skills a mustExcellent track record for attendance required - we need you here!Strong computer and inventory management skills (Microsoft Excel, Oracle EBS)Great attitude and attendance are a must!Headquartered in Reston, Virginia, General Dynamics is a global aerospace and defense company offering a broad portfolio of products and services in business aviation; ship construction and repair; land combat vehicles, weapons systems and munitions; and technology products and services.
