As a Senior Group Sales Manager you will develop your market and coordinate with a passionate team. Your interpersonal, service and entrepreneurial strengths will ensure exceptional operating results and guest satisfaction.What you will be doing:Accountable for supporting the Group Sales effort by prospecting and booking group business (all segments) within defined territoryExceeding personal sales goals monthly, quarterly, and annually and developing monthly sales strategy and action plansTraveling into markets as required for Sales Calls, Tradeshows, Events and ConferencesCollecting market and competitive intelligence to maximize group sales opportunitiesBuilding relationships with all relevant stakeholders: Accor Global Sales Office(s), Los Angeles Tourism & Convention board, attractions and Offsite Venues and partnering with regional and national sister hotels to optimize Accor exposure and build incremental businessBudgeting for, plan and organize site inspections, FAMS, sales trips and industry trade showsUtilizing Opera Sales System to track, solicit, book and follow up on accountsQuoting and negotiating rates within established parametersUpon closing, coordinating and following up with convention services, catering and/or other hotel departments to ensure delivery of hotel's promised servicesQualificationsYour experience and skills include:Minimum 2 years of Group Sales experience within Luxury HotelsCommunication: Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills.Analytical Ability: Strong skills in tracking sales data, forecasting, and using property management systems (PMS).Education: A bachelor's or master's degree in hospitality management, marketing, or business is often preferred.Previous luxury hotel/resort experience preferredFamiliar with and knowledge of Opera Sales and Catering or a similar Sales & Catering systemAbility to interact with customersMulti-lingual skills are beneficialHospitality diploma or degree an assetThe potential to be a creative team player, possessing a high degree of professionalism, business acumen, energy and determinationAble to set and meet deadlines with quality resultsAbility to be self-motivated in creating the most efficient systems for processing the required responsibilitiesAbility to make decisions, if needed, without guidance at timesMust be able to work in a fast-paced environment, meet short deadlines and multi-taskAdditional InformationWhat is in it for you:Salary Range: USD$95,000 to USD$115,000 + incentiveDiscounted hotel rooms and food & beverage rates to employees at our sister properties around the globe.We provide learning programs through our Academies to promote growth and development so that you can perform at your full potentialOpportunity to develop your talent and grow within your property and across the world!Ability to make a difference through our Corporate Social Responsibility activities, like Planet 21 and WATCHCompetitive Health Benefit Package within 30 days of employment401(k)/Roth IRA Eligibility after 60 days of employmentYour team and working environment:What was true in 1966 remains true to this day: The Century Plaza Hotel is part of a visionary development intent on doing what others could only imagine.
