Job Title: Cardiac Cath Lab RN Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Cardiac Cath Lab Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Days Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: RN license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS required Must-Have: Level I trauma experience, ability to respond to call within 30 minutes Description: Circulating RNs will be responsible for managing patient care during cardiac and EP procedures. Techs must be able to scrub and assist in various cases. The unit consists of 3 main beds and 2 specialized beds for vascular and cardiac cases. An average of 10-25 cases will be performed each day, primarily focusing on interventional cardiology and vascular procedures. Charge nurse responsibilities may include supervision of nurse aides and radiology techs. Weekends will require 4 shifts per 4-week schedule, with holidays included in the rotation. Common diagnoses treated include those related to interventional techniques, EP lab procedures, and vascular interventions. The EMR system used is Cerner and Xper. Care is provided in an acute care setting, with a trauma level of 1. The systems utilized include Phillips and Siemens equipment.
