DescriptionWhen needed, forecast daily work and direct the daily tasks of the repair teamRegularly assist Team Lead with leadership responsibilitiesServe as an internal resource to other departments in planning and managing repair workAct as a resource to other technicians to provide training and solve problems in areas of expertiseHandle escalated issues within assigned product setCommunicate with both internal and external customers, and vendors, to plan work and resolve issuesPerform repairs on various types of equipment including computers, printers, POS (Point of Sale) equipment, and hand-held mobile scannersFollow all safety procedures while meeting established quality and efficiency standardsAbility to read and comprehend technical documentation (Standard Operating Procedures, Technical Drawings, and Schematics)Evaluate and monitor repair processes and techniques and make recommendations for process and equipment changes that lead to gains in productivity and the quality of repairsResponsible for basic solderingIndependently diagnose, define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, facilitate solutions and resolve complicated repairsCommunicate technical information to technical and non-technical customersPerform test programs and run benchmarks for battery and power measurementsCommunicate and follow-through with internal customers to resolve any issuesRequirements3+ years related experience as a bench or field repair technicianAssociates Degree in Electronics; Computer Science; Information Technology or equivalent computer repair experience required.Strong communication skills, both verbal and writtenAbility to troubleshoot and solve problemsDemonstrated success working with minimal supervision; self-directedAbility to lead and mentor othersExperience with computer software, printers, and/or scanners installation and configurationAbility to repair laser barcode equipment such as Symbol, Intermec, and HoneywellComponent level soldering skillsStrong attention to detail and ability to thrive in a fast paced environmentAbility to quickly learn new skills and translate knowledge to practical applicationMechanically inclined, solid understanding of how various technologies workFundamental understanding of PC architecture and components, i.e., CPU and memoryA+ Certification preferredBackground in POS (Point-of-Sale) repair experience is preferredBasic Office Skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
