X96505 Instructional Designer, Tahlequah CampusJob SummaryThis position is responsible for the development and delivery of training and consultation related to course design especially in an online or blended environment. MAJOR DUTIESAll job duties are expected to be performed in compliance with the institution’s Web content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) standard.Designs and delivers face-to-face and online training in online, blended and face-to-face instructional technology, design, and software tools.Provides support to faculty, staff and administrators in the development and design of content-specific instruction learning modules, multimedia components, web resources, and instructional materials for both distance and on-campus learning.Supports faculty, staff, administrators and students in the use of web conferencing, video conferencing, and online communication tools.Develops content for training as related to Blackboard and other instructional technologies.Resolves help calls related to instructional technologies, Blackboard, and teaching strategies.Researches online and blended teaching and learning strategies and best practices.Conducts needs assessments and peer reviews at the course and program level.Vetting web 4.0 tools and other instructional technologies.Performs related duties as assigned.Knowledge Required By The PositionKnowledge of teaching and learning principles, best practices, and current developments in pedagogy/andragogy and web design in higher education.Knowledge of online and distance learning best practices.Skill in the operation of computers and job-related software programs, particularly MS Office, web 4.0 and electronic communication techniques.Skill in using multimedia equipment and software.Skill in decision making and problem solving.Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public.Skill in oral and written communication. SUPERVISORY CONTROLSThe Director assigns work in terms of very general instructions. The supervisor spot-checks completed work for compliance with procedures and the nature and propriety of the final results.GUIDELINESGuidelines include university policies and procedures. These guidelines require judgment, selection and interpretation in application. COMPLEXITY/SCOPE OF WORKThe work consists of varied duties in the design of instruction and use of instructional technologies. Frequent changes to technology contribute to the complexity of the position.The purpose of this position is to assist faculty in the development of online, blended and face-to-face courses. Success in this position contributes to the success of university teaching and learning goals. CONTACTSContacts are typically with co-workers, other university personnel, faculty, staff, students, and members of the general public.Contacts are typically to give or exchange information, to resolve problems, or to provide services.PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ WORK ENVIRONMENTThe work is typically performed while sitting at a desk or table.The work is typically performed in an office, and occasionally requires standing in front of a classroom.Some travel between campuses required.SUPERVISORY AND MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITYNone.Minimum QualificationsKnowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a baccalaureate degree in a course of study related to the occupational field.Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Oklahoma for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.Annual salary: $52,248.00 with excellent benefits, including generous leave time.Anticipated hire date: 06/01/2026Applications will be accepted until: 05/24/2026NOTE: Posting will close to applicants at 11:59 p.m., CST, on the date above.
