Senior Product Quality Engineer (Consumer Hardware)
We’re partnering with a design-led consumer hardware company that develops and ships products across DTC, retail, and global distribution channels. They’re hiring a Senior Product Quality Engineer to own product quality across the full product lifecycle and serve as a key partner to engineering, operations, and global manufacturing teams.This is a highly cross-functional, hands-on role where you’ll be responsible for how product quality is defined, measured, and improved in-market. You’ll analyze product performance and failure trends, drive root cause investigations, and work directly with overseas manufacturers to resolve issues and implement long-term improvements. This role also owns regulatory compliance across global markets and ensures products meet applicable standards.This is a full-time, permanent position onsite Mon-Thurs in Brooklyn, NY (Dumbo). Fridays you can work from home. If you are not local, we will help with relocation. Responsibilities:Own product quality end-to-end, including in-market performance, returns, and failure analysisAnalyze product data, customer feedback, and field issues to identify trends and drive improvementsPartner cross-functionally with engineering and operations to resolve product issues and improve reliabilityWork directly with overseas manufacturers and suppliers to drive supplier quality and corrective actionsOwn and evolve quality systems, processes, and reporting infrastructureLead supplier quality initiatives, including performance tracking, audits, and issue resolutionDrive risk management efforts, including FMEA and related documentationOversee validation, reliability, and lifecycle testing programsOwn regulatory and compliance requirements, ensuring products meet applicable standards (FDA, ISO, etc.)Define how quality data is collected, analyzed, and used to inform product and manufacturing decisionsMust-Have Skills:Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering7–10+ years of experience across product quality, supplier quality, or quality engineering within consumer hardware or electronicsProven experience owning product quality in-market, including returns, field issues, and failure analysisStrong experience working directly with overseas manufacturers (China/Asia) in high-volume production environmentsHands-on experience with injection molded components and manufacturing processesDirect experience with regulatory and compliance requirements (FDA, ISO, UL/CE, etc.)Experience driving supplier quality and corrective actions with contract manufacturers\Strong understanding of product development, manufacturing, and quality systemsAbility to analyze data and translate insights into actionable improvementsComfortable working cross-functionally and communicating risk to stakeholdersNice to Have Skills:Experience with IPX-rated products or moisture ingress protectionExperience with motors or electromechanical systemsCAD experience (SolidWorks or similar)Experience owning regulatory documentation or submissionsBenefits:Competitive medical benefit packageCommuter benefits for parking & transitCompetitive paid parental leave policy for qualifying employeesYear round early “summer Fridays”Open vacation policyDog friendly office space401k Tax BenefitsCompetitive compensation packageFully stocked kitchen with snacks
