Tablet Press OperatorThe Tablet Press Operator is responsible for all activities related to the production of quality tablets as per formula instructions. Also, responsible for adhering to SOPs and GMPs to ensure that the quality and quantity of product produced conforms to company standards. Works under the general direction of production management.This position is a safety-sensitive position. Safety-sensitive positions are defined as positions where the employee operates, repairs, maintains or monitors the performance or operation of a motor vehicle, equipment, machinery, or power tools. Safety-sensitive positions also include jobs where the tasks or duties required of the employee could affect the safety or health of the employee performing the task or others.Essential duties/responsibilities/functions:Follow all Good Manufacturing PracticesFollow good health and hygiene practices including gowningFollow procedures for changing gloves in between products and as neededMaintaining a constant visual of safety, SOPs, and GMP proceduresSet-up, calibrate and operate tableting machineClean and sanitize tablet press and tableting roomWear personnel protective equipment (PPE) as requiredFollow specific instructions on batch production record to produce quality tabletsNeatly and accurately record all required information on batch production record as requiredRecord tablet weight, hardness, thickness on batch production record using good documentation practicesProperly identify all containers of tableted productProperly use and care for equipment and materials in work areaFollow all safety and company policies on a daily basisWork cooperatively with co-workers and supervisorsMaintain regular and punctual attendance at workAll other duties as assignedMarginal job functions:Perform sensory evaluation of the tablet including, smell, color and shapeProperly operate a hand truck and barrel cartQualifications and skills required to perform job duties:Ability to read and interpret English documents such as operating instruction manualsAbility to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measureMust have a good working knowledge of calculators and scalesGood mechanical skillsAbility to speak, read and write in EnglishPhysical requirements to perform job duties:The employee must be able to lift 50 pounds and move 200 poundsManual dexterity, attention to detail and the ability to follow directionStand and walk on hard surfaces for up to 4 hours at a timeReach, lift and stack product weighing 515 lbs repeatedlyUse hand tools such as pliers, wrenches, hammer and snipsFine motor skills to use calipers and hardness tester with precision and accuracyAble to see/read details at close range (within 1 foot)Education and/or experience required to perform job duties:High School Degree or GED preferredPrevious manufacturing work experience preferredWork experience using mechanical tools, such as wrench, pliers, hammer, etc
